In one weeks time its been 3 months in this next brace......

I have been home over the past couple of weeks trying to recover and take things one step at a time I guess. Pretty much spend the first four weeks in bed when I first got home as I was very limited to doing stuff that might put any sort of strain on my neck so it was very difficult at that time being bed bound for 4 weeks.  I had some really bad pain during this time as my neck was recovering I guess and starting to grow back slowly together.

After 6 weeks of waiting I went to do some CT scans to check the progress and to my surprise it was healing quite slow. The doctor had told me that after the first 6 weeks had gone by all that had happened was that I had recovered about 30%, I was then told to keep the brace on for another 6 weeks just to play it safe. During these six weeks I have done a whole lot of media stuff and trying to keep myself busy with other things. I must admit the last 6 weeks have gone a lot quicker than the first 6 weeks and in one weeks time I go for my last CT scan hopefully.

South Africa hosted the first qualifying suppercross race for the OLYMPICS in 2012 London on the weekend of the 22nd of August in Pietermaritzburg. I was fortunate to still be involved in the event and did some commentating on the track during the time trials and then live on www.freecaster.tv with Pete D. Most the top riders from all over the world took part in the race and the weekend was action packed..

This week I will be spending time at my MTN Bmx track and putting in a few changes for the MTN Grand Nationals to be held there on the 24-26th September, other than that I’m looking forward to going to the doc next week and to start the second stage of the reovery.
