Well I can start by saying that it’s been one hell of a ride.
Well I can start by saying that it’s been one hell of a ride. Starting this year’s season I was very ambitious about my result and where I wanted to be by the end of the year, in terms of results. The season opening races were like a slap in the face as I spent two months in Australia preparing for that race and the rest of the season. And after the first two rounds I walked away empty-handed. With just a semi final on the first day and a quarterfinal on day two. Talk about a wake up call. Soon after that, the rest of the season was scheduled to take place in Europe. I had to get my head straight and regroup mentally if I was to achieve half the goals I had set for the rest of the season. The next race was to take place in Czech Republic and I felt like I had worked on my mistakes and brushed it up nicely. I won both days...and from there I knew what I had to do for the rest of the year. Like a chain reaction I went on to win the next two weekends, making it 6 straight wins in a row. Planning to go race two more weekends in Europe...I had a nasty crash and broke my neck, fracturing my c3 and c4. Fortunately I didn’t do any damage to my spinal cord but I had an emergency operation in Norway where I crashed. I proceeded to recover till this very day the 20th of November 2009. I crashed 5 months ago and have been in and out of hospital doing check ups and hyperbaric therapy to help recover quicker. On a normal day to day tip I have also been doing alot of media for MTN, Redbull, Oakley and Intense which has gone very well in this difficult time I have been through and had been an eye opener and I am honored to be part of those mentioned above, without their support I would have had a harder time getting through this. Currently I will be spending the rest of the year in Europe on holiday before I restart to train for 2010. Thank you all so much for your support and I hope next year is a continuation of where I stopped. Ps: Follow me on twitter as "SifisoNhlapo" to keep updated or keep visiting my website
