Chula Vista SX 2011

Chula Vista SX

This weekends race was the final stop of the super cross world series in Chula vista San Diego. After being on the side lines for the past 6 months it was good to be back on the scene and I enjoyed trying to refined my feeling on the big track again. I think I have made a lot of progress with my rehabilitation over the past 6 months and I have brought more than 100% to the table in terms of the required effort because I know how important it is that my knee is 100% stronger than it was when I return to competitive racing.

NBL first race back in Kentucky after knee injury

Moving Forward

I must say that it has been a hell of a trip and I have learnt a lot about myself. I guess a lot people must think how unlucky I am. Strangely I feel the complete opposite. I believe that adversity breeds opportunity. In my case this tough time I have been through has been a opportunity to think about the mistakes I have made over the past few years of racing.

1st Month post ACL reconstruction suregey.

14th of February is known across the globe as valentines day. A day of love and happiness. For me this day marked the start of a new journey.

On the this day I underwent a ACL ligament repair on my left knee due to an injury I had on the 5th of February in the USA while competing. The surgery went well from what my doctor told me post surgery. Dr Daan Du Plessis is the best in the business in surgery of the knee and has worked on some of the best athletes in the world. Knowing this brought a lot of relief on my part because I knew that it was a good start to a long road of recovery.
